Well done, Beverley Graham! You were nominated by the lovely Katie and I’ll be contacting her to get your details so that I can post you out your prizes!

Thank you so much to everyone who entered. I really hope you all had a wonderful Real Nappy Week 2013!

gNappy Giveaway Winners!

As is typical of life – as soon as the weather shows ANY sign of looking decent, Mr Monkey Clothbum comes down with a streaming cold! So, that was our decision made for the day – lots and lots of messy play and playing with toys at home whilst Monkey (and Mummy, actually) got better.

He’s now at that stage where I can’t get him easily interested in anything – HE has to decide that he it’s worth his time. So, over the past few days I have been trying to get him playing with the ‘hat’ so that we could do our gNappy GIVEAWAY He just wasn’t interested in putting his hands inside it at all. Lots of other things went in ….

But no paper was coming out!

But today was obviously the day! I handed him over the toy and he went straight for it, picking out two pieces of paper pretty quickly!

I had to grab them off him rather fast as he then decided that he had to get all the others out and spend time playing with each one – with a very serious, studious expression on his face!

So! Yes! We have our two lovely, lucky winners! Well done to you both and I’ll be in contact to get address details!

Thank you to everyone who took part and thank you so much to the lovely people at gNappies for letting me have these wonderful nappies to giveaway!

Return of the Weekend Catch-Up!

Well, I’m sat here at my computer, kind of wondering where to begin. You see – I have so much to write about and so much to say that I’m almost at a standstill. What do I put first?

I suppose THE thing that most of you want to know about is my fantastic gNappy giveaway! It closed yesterday at 5pm and I have to say a very big thank you to all your lovely people who took part in it. Mr Monkey Clothbum will be having fun waving bits of paper around soon as he does the draw, so keep an eye on the blog and you’ll find out who the two lucky winners are.

Best of luck to you all!

Next, is an apology! When I first started this blog I was on maternity leave. I think that part of me missed my job (I’m a teacher) and I used the blog as a way to get information out there and as a fantastic way of communicating with people. It turned from a small little blog designed for a few friends who were interested in using cloth nappies into one that lots of people have subscribed to! I’d never really thought about it becoming bigger than a few people, so that really surprised me! I have to say that I’m always amazed and very touched when people email me with either comments or questions – and I try my best to help out where I can.

So, I went back to work in April and I wasn’t 100% prepared for just how shattered I’d be at night! Blogging went slightly on the back burner and for that, I apologise. However, I have spared you the joys of reading the ramblings of a mad woman – so for that I reckon you should all be eternally grateful!

Being back at work has been challenging but very rewarding. It’s been lovely being back in the classroom and Monkey thoroughly enjoys his nursery, which is great. He often claps with excitement when we walk up to the nursery door in the mornings and is always incredibly excited to see his key worker, bless him! Nursery has provided him with lots of social interaction and it’s so funny to watch him copying his peers. The latest thing that he’s attempting is blowing kisses – something that is, apparently rather difficult. The trick is to avoid hitting yourself in the face when you come back in for another kiss!!!

I have a few product reviews waiting in the pipeline to go onto the blog, which you’ll be seeing pop up in the next week or so. Due to this wonderful Summer weather that we’re not having, I’ve had a few fantastic sinus and chest infections, so that’s also made me slower with getting things on here for you. What IS it with this weather at the moment? I actually nearly put the heating on yesterday – which is mental considering that it’s mid July!

Anyway – so, yes – it’s now the Summer holidays and I promise that I’ll try to be a better blogger! We’ve got an immensely busy Summer ahead of us, with Monkey having his first birthday – so it’s going to be lots of fun! Hope you’re all making the most of your weekend, even if it is drizzling with rain like it is here.

I was contemplating going to the zoo today…hmmmm….

g…g…g…goodness me! It’s a gNappy GIVEAWAY!!!

Before I tell you all about this fabulous giveaway that the lovely people at gNappieshave helped me with, I must start off by apologising.

I mentioned this giveaway a little while ago, when I put up my review of these fabulous nappies. I had all the best intentions in the world of getting the giveaway up and running pretty much straight away afterwards, but then – well – life kind of took over. I’ve been very busy both at work and home and then, this week, I got the most horrible sickness bug/ cold. It completely floored me and it’s only been today that I’ve got up the energy to do anything else other than the basics of looking after Monkey and myself (Mr Clothbum has been a star at helping me get some rest)

So – I typed this next bit about the giveaway aaaaaages ago – so I’d better get on and upload it. I just thought I’d better add this bit in at the beginning as a way of an apology!

So – hands up who quite likes cloth nappies? Who thinks they’re pretty damn cute and loves how easy they are to use? No faffing around with chemical-ridden plastic things… no massive blowout leaks due to the fab elastic and great containment… Hardly any nappy rash due to the fact that your little one’s skin can properly breathe…

Well – I’d hope that if you’re reading this blog, that you nodded away in agreement to most of those statements. At the end of the day – as you all know (or should know), Cloth Nappies Rock.

But, of course, there is a rather large problem associated with these nappies.

One that they don’t warn you about.
One that kind of creeps up on you.
until one day you kind of realise…

Yes – you may have every single colour. Most styles. Different wraps. Day and night nappies. Ruffles and Tutus.

But, the bottom line is that us Cloth Bum Mums (and Dads…) always looks at other nappies and go – ooooooooh!

So (and I love this bit) – Would you like the chance to go OOOOOOH very loudly and grab yourself a nappy for FREEEEEEE?

Of course you would! gNappies have been absolutely amazing and have given me some nappies to giveaway to two lucky winners. Each winner will receive a medium little gPant (sized to fit babies between 13 and 28lb, which is 5-13 kg)

All you have to do is answer the following:

As always, you have three ways to enter – via Facebook (search for daisytheclothbummum), via this blog or via Twitter (put #gnappydaisy) in your tweet or I won’t pick them up.

The competition is open as of NOW and will close on Thursday 12th July 2012 at 5pm, with the winner announced asap after that.

The T&C are as follows:

The competition will close at 5pm on Thursday 12th July 2012
The nappies will only be posted out to a UK address.
The winners will be decided by daisytheclothbummum and is final.
The winners will be notified, and announced, as soon as possible after the giveaway closes.
After the competition closes, I’ll pick out ten entries that are (in my eyes) the most creative and they’ll go into the ‘hat’. Monkey will then pick out a winner and I’ll document this via slightly cropped photos for you!
If the winner has any problems with the nappies then he/she must contact gNappies directly.

daisytheclothbummum gives her time freely to run this giveaway and is not being paid for running it.

Best of luck, everyone!

Gumigem Giveaway update

Just a quick little note to thank all the lovely people who took part in the Gumigem giveaway!

We have been planning on doing the draw for the past couple of days now, but when Monkey has come home from nursery, he’s been a rather clingy, sobbing mess – so we really haven’t had time to do it!

The plan is, all being well, to get him during one of his better moods tomorrow afternoon when I’m not at work – so keep your eyes peeled for the results!!!

Gumigem Bubba Bangle GIVEAWAY!

Well, I’ve been mentioning this for a little while and – yes, I’ve finally got myself organised and here it is!

I have one lovely Bubba Bangle to GIVEAWAY to one lucky person. These really are fantastic and I wear mine all the time. Monkey reaches out for it when we’re out and about and I love the fact that if I forget any of his toys/teethers then I have something there on my wrist that we can use!

The brilliant thing about Gumigems is that they really don’t look like teethers at all. Pretty much everyone who’s seen mine has been rather astonished when they’ve felt it as they thought that it’d be hard, like stone or wood.

So – yes – would you like to be in with a chance of winning one? You would? Excellent!

In the past, I’ve got Monkey to pick names out of a hat and I’ve documented it with pictures but I’ve made a decision recently that I’m not going to be photographing him fully anymore for the blog. Now that he’s coming into his features and turning into a little boy, I just feel that he deserves his privacy. So, he will be doing the draw but I’ll just crop the photos a little!

So, to enter the competition, all you have to do is finish off the sentence below, in less that ten words (not including the ones that I’ve started you off with!)

A Bubba Bangle will make my life complete because…

Obviously, please be as creative and dramatic as you can – the ones that make me giggle will be more likely to be put into the draw! Mr Clothbum and myself will pick out 10 entries and put them into the ‘hat’ (his fabric sorting toy) for Monkey to pick a winner from.

The competition is open as of NOW and will close on Friday 8th June at 5pm, with the winner announced asap after that.

As you can answer the question via three online locations (via Facebook, Twitter or the Blog) that gives you three chances of winning! Not bad, eh! Of course, it’d be fantastic if you share the competition as well, so I suppose that you can get an extra entry if you share it, and then let me know! (just one extra entry, not three – I’d find that a nightmare to keep up with everyone!)

Remember to let me know via the FB page or add #daisybubba to your Tweets, or I won’t be able to keep track of you all.

The T&C are as follows:

The competition will close at 5pm on Monday 11th June 2012.
The bangle will only be posted out to a UK address.
The winner will be decided by daisytheclothbummum and is final.
The winner will be notified, and announced, as soon as possible after the giveaway closes.
After the competition closes, I’ll pick out ten entries that are (in my eyes) the most creative and they’ll go into the ‘hat’. Monkey will then pick out a winner and I’ll document this via slightly cropped photos for you!
If the winner has any problems with the bangle then he/she must contact Gumigem directly.

daisytheclothbummum gives her time freely to run this giveaway and is not being paid for running it.

Announcing the winner of the bumGenius Freetime!

Things are sometimes sent to test us, aren’t they!!!

We got home and got ready to do our prize draw that has been kindly donated by Nappy Go Lucky Master Monkey was getting all excitable, flapping his arms around like a windmill.

I got ready, poised with the iPad to take snaps to upload for you all, to document the occasion…

Then he started howling, threw himself back on the rug and got himself incredibly, heart-wrenchingly upset. Bless him! Obviously he DIDN’T want to be a prize picker.

I put the iPad down and went to get him and… I found squidged up in his damp little hand – a winner!!!

I’d be so busy being a worried, ahhhhh I’ll hug you, kind of Mummy that I hadn’t noticed he’d picked someone! (I’m not completely certain he noticed either in all the kerfuffle!!!)

Anywaaaaay! We have a winner!!!!

The lucky lady is KATIE HOLDSWORTH!

Well done! I’ll be contacting you with more info soon!

Thank you yet again to everyone who entered the giveaways – and thank you to everyone who follows the blog. It means a lot that people are still following! Makes me smile!!! Xx

bumGenius FREETIME winner will be announced tomorrow!

Just a very quick blog post to let you all know that little Master Monkey Clothbum will be doing the draw for the Nappy Go Lucky giveaway tomorrow afternoon, once his Mummy is back from work!

We were all set up to do it tonight, but little Monkey came back from his full day at nursery, ate his tea and promptly passed out! He’s since spent the whole evening waking up, passing out, waking up, passing out (as if he just wants to make 100% certain that Mummy is there, bless him!)

So… all will be revealed tomorrow!

And the winner of the Baba + Boo Nappy is…

Well, Monkey has been a busy little boy and has managed to pick out a winner!
The lucky lady will be able to choose from a wide range of fantastic nappies. I personally absolutely LOVE these nappies – they are pretty much bombproof and are really lovely! They have a good fit and will last my little one ages as they go up to a really large size.

At the bottom is our photo journey! Monkey was far far too interested in shaking around the ‘HAT’ and then chewing several bits of it, but eventually managed to jam his hand in there and pull out the name of the lucky winner. That then went into his mouth too – but Mummy managed to get it out quickly.

Then I was faced with a bit of a dilemma. You see – the winner of the giveaway is actually a friend of mine – someone that I know in real life. And that looks like a fix.

But I swear that it wasn’t – this lovely lady has entered all my competitions (along with many of my mummy friends who have supported me and the blog since the start) and there has been one time where I had to pick again as she had won (I was worried that people would think that I was giving her something and fixing my giveaways)

BUT – Monkey picked out her name and I really think that this time, she should win (and that I shouldn’t redo the picking process).

She has wanted to try cloth nappies for a while, has just got hold of some nappies from the local council and I think that this will be a fab way to start! Real Nappy Week is all about promoting cloth to newbies so, yay!

So – HELEN DRYBURGH – lovely lady, You won!

I’ll be contacting you with details about how to get your nappy!

Thank you so much, everyone, for entering. There were some fantastic entries – those amongst my favourites included Joseph and his technicoloured stash and the Tinkle Tinkle little Star for a beautiful little Angelbaby.
